Why book a themed hotel for your next family holiday?
Staying in a themed hotel means immersing yourself in a world of adventure that will make you feel like you’re in a different place—or even a different era! This will offer a refreshing break from your family’s everyday routine, allowing everyone to shift their focus and imagination to something new and exciting for a few memorable days. Here are some of the many reasons to stay in a themed hotel for kids on your next holiday:
- Total immersion: the theming extends far beyond the décor. Everything is in-play, ranging from the ambient music to the staff’s uniform and even the menus in the hotel’s bars and restaurants. This cohesive storytelling will allow your children to live out their own movie, while adults won’t need to leave the resort to feel like they’re on the trip of a lifetime.
- Unlimited fun: by making a booking at any of PortAventura World’s six official themed hotels, you’ll get unlimited access to PortAventura Park throughout your stay and one day at Ferrari Land—at no extra cost! You won’t need to buy each of the tickets individually, and you’ll also be able to hit the tracks each morning before the visitors arrive. What’s not to like?
- Convenience for parents: we’ll make your plans easier by offering activities for children of different ages, buffets with kids’ options and designated on-site parking. While your younger PortAventurers get stuck into the kids’ entertainment, the grown-ups can relax at the spa or enjoy a quiet dinner—safe in the knowledge that everyone is safe and sound.
- Strategic location: by staying on-site, you’ll be able to stroll back to the hotel for a mid-afternoon dip or a much-needed siesta before heading back to the park in the evening. Alternatively, you’ll be able to explore everything that Salou has to offer and soak up the sun on the golden beaches of the Costa Dorada, which are just a ten-minute drive away.

Tips for choosing the best themed hotel for your family
- Decide on your theme: not only will involving your family make the booking process more fun, but it will also make sure that the hotel fully aligns with the chosen theme. We recommend showing your family our range of themed hotels for children. Once you’ve all taken a look at the options, you can hold a family vote to decide on your next holiday accommodation.
- Consider your meal requirements: calculate how many hours you’ll actually be at the hotel for on a typical day. If you’re planning to spend the whole day at the park, half-board might be enough to get by. However, if you’re travelling with young babies or plan to spend significant time relaxing by the pool, it’s probably worth considering the all-inclusive option.
- Take your children’s ages into account: as a general rule, you should make sure that the hotel caters to your children’s needs before making your reservation. Thankfully, this will never be a concern at PortAventura World. Our hotels offer a plethora of kid-friendly services, ranging from pools to face painting stations and costumed characters. All of our hotels also have Wi-Fi, meaning your children can relax watching films during their downtime.
- Set a realistic budget: by paying slightly more, you’ll benefit from on-site parking, the Express Pass and other convenient extras. Sometimes, it really is worth pushing the boat out that little bit further.
- Consult any ‘extras’: would online check-in be convenient to you? Will you need to store your luggage somewhere on your day of departure, and will you require late check-out? The answers to these questions can make all the difference.
FAQs
Are PortAventura World’s themed hotels exclusively for families with children?
Not at all! While there are plenty of services and amenities conceived with kids in mind, there are also rooms that are designed to be enjoyed by couples—complete with their own private balcony. There are also spa facilities and à la carte restaurants, perfect for a romantic weekend away or a getaway with friends. Hotel Mansión de Lucy is particularly well suited for a romantic weekend away.
Do I need to book the themed hotel in advance?
If you’re planning to come during peak periods (such as summer, Halloween and Christmas), we recommend booking several months in advance to avoid disappointment and secure the best possible price. Keep checking PortAventura World’s official website to take advantage of our time-limited promotions and offers on stays at our themed hotels.
Does PortAventura World have any pet-friendly themed hotels?
Animals are not permitted in our hotels for sanitary and hygiene reasons. The only exception is assistance dogs, which must remain with their owners at all times. In such cases, owners must present the corresponding health certificates when requested to do so.
