Luckily, Halloween at PortAventura World means you don’t have to choose between a terrifying experience and one for the whole family. From 19 September to 15 November, the park transforms so everyone can find their own way to enjoy the season: from haunted attractions and experiences for the bravest visitors to shows, characters and activities for the whole family.

Two parallel worlds in one weekend: Why stay at our hotels

A Halloween weekend has plenty to offer. And staying at one of the PortAventura World hotels means having the park close by and making the most of every day.

That way, you can forget about watching the clock and focus on what really matters: deciding whether today is the day to take on a haunted attraction or take a photo with a pumpkin.

And there’s another little detail that can make all the difference. After a full day of rides, shows and scares, having your hotel nearby is always useful for recharging your batteries before heading back for more.

Team Extreme Horror itinerary (2 days): Only for the truly brave

If you’re looking for thrills, Halloween is your time. This season, you can choose from five haunted attractions, as well as areas and shows that bring a spooky atmosphere to every corner of the park.

Day 1: Extreme haunted attractions and rides in complete darkness

Start your day exploring PortAventura Park and save some energy for when night falls.

The first must-stop for this team is El Carnicero de Penitence: Pasaje del Terror, the big new addition for Halloween 2026. In the heart of Far West, the Sheriff needs your help investigating the disappearances surrounding the town butcher. The experience takes you into a 19th-century butcher’s shop and slaughterhouse, where the suspense keeps building… and so does the fear.

But that’s not all. During your visit, you can also take on La Isla Maldita, La Muerte Viva, REC® Experience and Angkor: La leyenda del Rey Caníbal.

Make the most of your favourite rides during the day. And if you want to experience one in complete darkness, Uncharted is the one for you!

Day 2: Scare Zones and macabre shows where no one is safe

Day two. After resting at our hotels, Team Extreme Horror doesn’t know the meaning of the word rest.

Explore the different areas of the park and be surprised by the Halloween characters appearing throughout the day. And when night falls, head to the La Maldición del Emperador Scare Zone, where the atmosphere becomes even more unsettling.

And with all those scares, you’ll need to eat. During Halloween, you’ll find special food options throughout the park, as well as themed restaurants and choices for different tastes. So you can take a break to recharge your batteries… before heading back for the next scare.

Team Family Fun itinerary (2 days): Magic, pumpkins and (very) few scares

If your Halloween plans include children, photos with characters and plenty of fun without too many surprises, you have your own itinerary too. Because Halloween doesn’t have to be scary. Sometimes all you need is a pumpkin, a little decoration and a good dose of fun.

Day 1: SésamoAventura, children’s attractions and the sweetest Halloween

Start at SésamoAventura, where little ones can enjoy the Halloween atmosphere without having to face the more intense experiences.

During the season, favourites such as Truco o Trato, Día de los Muertos and the Halloween Parade return, along with different animations and street characters appearing throughout the park. Little ones won’t want to miss the new Makamanu Halloween animation, where they’ll have to follow clues to recover the Magic Stone and restore peace to the Makamanu Jungle.

And what about the scares? Just the right amount. Enjoy the decorations, look for the perfect spots for photos and let the little ones experience Halloween their own way.

Day 2: Family rides and shows you won’t want to miss

Combine some of the rides you most want to experience again with Halloween shows and animations. The idea is to go at your own pace, stop whenever you need to and leave room for those moments that weren’t part of the plan: a character suddenly appearing or that family photo that just won’t work out, but somehow ends up being better than expected.

You can also stop by Long Branch Saloon to discover Resurrection, the new mystery and dance show this season. Because yes: even ghosts know how to party.

And if you want to add a little excitement without reaching Team Extreme Horror levels, you can always head over to La Maldición del Emperador when night falls and decide on the spot just how brave you feel.

What if you’re a mixed group? How to combine both itineraries while staying at the resort

Every member of the family may want to enjoy the getaway in a different way. And here comes the real test of bravery: is it possible to travel with a group where everyone has a different idea of what “having a scary good time” means?

The answer is a resounding yes. You just need to divide your weekend wisely. During the day, you can enjoy rides, shows and decorations together… And when night falls, the bravest can head for the haunted attractions while everyone else continues enjoying our more relaxed experiences.

If you also stay at one of the resort’s hotels, you’ll have the park close by, giving you more freedom to organise your day. Guests can access PortAventura Park every day of their stay and have access to Ferrari Land for one day per person.

So yes: you can travel together and survive the debate over what to do first.

Between scares, it’s time to eat: Restaurants at Halloween

When it’s time to eat, the Halloween atmosphere continues.

The park offers special food options throughout the season alongside the usual favourites. From self-service restaurants to established restaurants such as Iron Horse and Racó del Mar, you’ll find dishes perfectly matched to the season.

Some favourites from previous years are back, including pumpkin soup, burgers with black buns, churros with chocolate and Halloween-themed milkshakes. And for those looking to try something different, new recipes include the Mac & Cheese at The Old Steak House, macaroni with cheese sauce at La Cocina de Epi, roasted sweet potato pinsa, mushroom soup and lobster rice at Racó de Mar, and the Choripiqui at Iron Horse.

Little ones will also find surprises in the desserts and snacks, with sweets and Halloween-inspired presentations that give even a break for food a seasonal touch.

Is park admission included if I book a hotel for a 2- or 4-day itinerary?

Yes. When you book a stay at one of the PortAventura World hotels, you have access to the parks for the days included according to the number of nights in your booking. For example, with a 1-night stay, you’ll have access to PortAventura Park for 2 days and Ferrari Land for 1 day.

If you extend your stay, the number of days of access to PortAventura Park also increases: with 2 nights, you’ll have 3 days; and with 3 nights, 4 days. Ferrari Land access remains at 1 day.

 Are the haunted attractions included in the ticket or hotel price?

Some of our haunted attractions are included with the price of your ticket or hotel stay, such as La Maldición del Emperador or Truco o Trato. However, others, such as El Carnicero de Penitence and La Isla Maldita, require an additional ticket.

Can we wear costumes to the park or hotels during our Halloween weekend?
