Every CARNIVAL has its kings, and you will be ours!

Carnival will soon be here! And we’re not just talking about any old Carnival. We’re talking about history’s first Made to Remember Carnival.

What does this mean?

That at PortAventura World, we’ll do everything in our power to make sure it’s unforgettable. We’ll invite all the marching bands to take over our main avenue, we’ll adorn the park with themed decorations, we’ll proclaim confetti as our official flag, and we’ll set our rides to full steam ahead so that you return home with fantastic memories.

Because you are our Carnival King or Queen, and we don’t want you to ever forget all that we’ve got in store for you!

Great kings and queens deserve great costumes!

Around this time of year, the park is filled with colour and confetti. The marching bands play their music through the streets of our park and every moment becomes a great party.

So that you can fully immerse yourself in the occasion, we want to share some ideas for unique costumes with you that will make you feel like true PortAventura World royalty.

The great King or Queen of loop-the-loops

Our first costume idea is, for obvious reasons, King or Queen. What do you need?

A real Carnival King or Queen doesn’t follow fashion trends, they make their own! So feel free to choose any combination of garments or accessories you can think of. If you’ve never dared to wear that crazy outfit that’s been on your mind, today’s the day!

But if the ideas aren’t flowing, we can share some of ours to give your fancy dress the WOW factor.

A harlequin hat with bells is a firm favourite. It will give you that wild and rebellious Carnival vibe! If you can’t find the right hat, then what about a colourful wig?

When it comes to clothing, let your imagination run riot. Loose-fitting items, such as baggy trousers, are ideal. They also have the added benefit of allowing you to move freely on all our rides. Choose bright and clashing colours: the bolder you are, the more attention you’ll receive!

For a finishing touch, drape a few red streamers over the top, just like the Dragon Khan loops and you’ll be ready to enjoy the Carnival you deserve and sit on our great throne!

“Seventies disco” costume

If there’s one thing that makes our shows extraordinary, it’s the music. We have a YouTube playlist full of bangers that will keep you dancing all day long, so you’ll need a costume to match!

And there’s no better fancy dress to get those hips moving than the “seventies disco” costume. Just for one day, travel back 50 years and dress like they did in classic nightclubs to show them who’s the real king or queen of the dance floor. What do you need?

For the top part, you’ll need a psychedelic shirt or t-shirt. The more colours, the better. You can make one yourself by tie-dyeing an old t-shirt you have around the house and giving it a new lease of life.

Wear it with a pair of bell-bottomed trousers and some sparkly – but comfortable – shoes. The flashier, the better. Long live glitter!

Add a pair of neon sunglasses and you’ll have achieved perfection. You will be the real star of our shows!

PortAventura World explorer

At PortAventura Park there are endless secrets and surprises to be discovered. That’s why dressing up as an explorer would be a great way to enjoy our park! What do you need?

Every successful explorer needs comfortable clothing. Tracksuit bottoms and a body warmer are ideal as they give you the freedom to move around as you need. But, beware! Choose your clothing wisely. Garments in pastel or earthy tones will provide the perfect camouflage so that other treasure hunters can’t find you.

You’ll also need a wide-brimmed hat to protect against the sun, a magnifying glass to decipher clues, and a good treasure map to find the gold.

Once you have all that, you’ll be ready to enter El Templo de Fuego or set foot inside Penitence mountain!

These are just a few of our ideas, but we’re sure you’ll think of many more. Surprise us and become the King or Queen of our Carnival with a costume we’ll never forget!
