Insect fright lamp

What's scarier than a giant bug in a lamp? To carry out this prank, you will need the following materials:

• Black card
• Pencil
• Scissors
• Sticky tape
• Lamp with shade

Once you have all the materials ready, you can start creating this giant insect.

First, choose which kind of insect you want to make to scare your family or friends. Our favourites are giant spiders, cockroaches, or scarab beetles. They're just so much more terrifying than the others.

Once you have decided, draw the outline of your insect onto black card. Check that it's the right size to stick on the inside of a lampshade.

When you have finished drawing, use the scissors to cut around the insect. Remember, cut carefully to make sure that your insect looks real for a truly terrifying fright.

Once you have cut out the shape of the insect, prepare a piece of sticky tape, about five centimetres long. Fold it over so that it is sticky on both sides and stick the ends together.

Stick the piece of tape to the insect and place it inside the lampshade so that it can be seen when the light is switched on.

Now you're ready! Turn off all the lights and switch on the lamp to give the fright of their life to your chosen victim.
