If you want to be able to enjoy everything it has to offer, then you really need to spend some time getting to know the theme park first. If your visit is only for one day, it is handy to have some information in advance on the different areas, as well as the rides, activities and shows that you can find there. Plan your visits to the rides

One of the most valuable pieces of advice and recommendations for visiting PortAventura World is to decide when you are going to visit the most popular attractions. Dragon Khan and Shambhala are always the busiest, without a doubt.

Our advice is to visit them at lunchtime or first thing in the morning. Then you'll have more time to visit the rest of the park. Another tip is to look at the information board and decide which attraction to go to based on waiting times, or even treat yourself to an Express wristband to get the most out of your experience.

Do you meet the height requirements?

Whilst we're on the subject of queues, another aspect to bear in mind is the height of each family member. If you are visiting with children, remember that height restrictions are in place for many rides, so it would be a good idea to start with the children's area and check which attractions are suitable.

Prepare everything you'll need on the day

In addition to comfortable clothing to be able to get on and off the attractions and move around the park with ease, there are other factors to take into consideration. Footwear must be secure so that it does not fall off or get caught on anything.

Don't forget to pack a hat and sunscreen, whatever the month, and a waterproof for the water attractions. Ponchos are available to purchase in the park. It's best to leave valuables at home but if you do need to bring them, make sure they're safely stored in the lockers.

Don't miss the shows

When you visit PortAventura World we highly recommend that you go and see the shows! Rides may be the highlight of PortAventura World, but our shows are just as incredible. We recommend that you arrive 20 minutes before the start to make sure you can find a seat. And if you want to go home with wonderful memories, late at night, before closing, there is a magnificent fireworks display over the lake, only in summer. Get there early for the best view.

We hope that these recommendations and advice for visiting PortAventura World have been of great help to you and that you enjoy an unforgettable day in the country's most exciting theme park.

What to wear in PortAventura World

If you want to get the most out of your visit to our theme park, you need to be dressed in suitable clothing. If you're unsure, we can tell you which clothes to wear during your time in PortAventura World.

Footwear

The best type of footwear is sports shoes, such as trainers or something similar. You will be on your feet for the entire day so footwear must be, above all, comfortable. It is inadvisable to wear high-heeled boots or shoes.

If you prefer to wear open footwear in summer, our recommendation is to opt for a sandal that can be secured to the foot. Although flip-flops are fine to wear inside the facilities, they are not permitted on some rides as they could fall off or get caught in the mechanism.

This would be dangerous for you and for other visitors. To avoid this, you will find some drawers in which you can deposit them while you are riding the attraction.

Clothing

As we have already indicated, if you are not sure what clothes to wear in PortAventura World, always opt for clothes that feel most comfortable: shorts, T-shirt, leggings… It's also best to choose materials such as polyester, since, although it does not breathe like cotton, it dries easily and is much lighter.

Some visitors like to wear a short bathing suit, however please be aware that bathing costumes or bikinis are not permitted on some rides. If you visit PortAventura World during the cooler seasons, it's a good idea to take a waterproof or buy one there. In this way, you will avoid getting your clothes wet during the visit (both on the attractions and if it's a rainy day). And for cooler days, look for a jacket that is warm but light and allows you to move around without difficulty.

Accessories

In addition to clothing and footwear, which are the key parts of the outfit that you'll wear for your visit to PortAventura World, accessories are also important. We're talking about, for example, sunglasses and a cap, or hat, to protect you from the sun.

And don't forget to take a rucksack or bag to store everything. Choose one that you can wear across your chest, so there's no risk of losing anything. Finally, don't forget to take sunscreen, even on cloudy days. Rays can pass through the clouds and you run the same risk of getting burned as on sunny days.

With these recommendations and advice, you're ready to go to PortAventura World and have a great time at the resort!
